Linked In’ Professional Profile

Ms. Wieting is Founder, a former Principal Designer, and CEO of Maggie Wieting Consultants LLC.
Having successfully designed four previous [interior] private residences and two of her present homes, Ms. Wieting has always dabbled in the world of architecture and design with an instinctual eye, a skill that she explains is innate, but can be learned through practice.  Her recent projects include a meditation room, library and study using LEED as its core design.

As a provisional chartered partner of the American Society of Interior Designers and London based Society of British Interior Design with professional trade membership in specialised industry groups: Association of Design Education, British Institute of Interior Design, International Interior Designers Association and Sustainable Urban Development, Ms. Wieting consults on-going large commercial projects in Southeast Asia and advises on private residential properties in London and New York.  She studies where interior design is transitioning, and evolving as demand for both sustainable and green projects dominate her clients’ portfolios of properties.

In 2008 she was pivotal in the inaugural product launch of Envision Beauty’s The Solution in both product design and public relations as a media consultant and advisor to its founder.  Ms. Wieting was a public relations associate at the non-profit New York-based headquarters of Asia Society and served high level media relations and corporate communications internships at Dun & Bradstreet, Nielsen Media Research, R R Donnelley & Sons and Bonnier Corporation (then Times Mirror Magazines).   Ms. Wieting was contributing editor and a promotional marketing intern at Art & Antiques and Art & Auction magazines.   While there, in her roles, she acted as a liaison officer to both the marketing sales and editorial and publishing teams at New York’s Sotheby’s and Christie’s auction houses.   Maggie also completed an internship in the public relations and special events department at the National Design Academy.

Ms. Wieting’s professional experience spans a wide spectrum from non-profit, public relations, publishing, event planning, media and marketing to environmental and travel reporting and personal blogging.  Her consultancy work in interior design was seeded by curiosity and wanderlust at a relatively young age.  An avid patron of the arts, education, environmental causes, supporting local and international non-profit institutions, Ms. Wieting’s humanitarian interests — through enriching global travel to five continents to date and still in delight of exploring, experiencing more while emphasizing meaningful, insightful connections with others — keeps her curiosity alive, through her evolving life story.   A whetted appetite into architectural (green) design feeds into her on-going determination to balance and enjoy it all.

“I am here to learn and always remain curious about all facets of design…eventually – hopefully – mastering with an edge,”  a statement Maggie is known for saying of virtually all her pursuits.

“We are vessels of creativity and innovation.  Ideas and inspiration can arrive from most anyplace or anyone; be attuned to others with an open mind to infinite possibilities.    Thinking in unconventional ways brings new discoveries…always.”
